Surface Module
The CS*EXPLORER© Surface module maintains all the surface lease
agreements in the system, including Easements, Surface Leases, and Road Use documents. The
Surface module fully integrates with all other CS*EXPLORER© modules, as

information in the Surface module, the system automatically updates all related files and

Wells Module
The Wells module is used to maintain the well information in the system. The system
automatically updates the rest of the CS*EXPLORER© database with any
modifications that you make in the Wells module. You can set up e-mail notifications to
have the system automatically notify designated co-workers of any changes to information
in the Wells module, as well as which documents are affected by the changes.
The Well module fully supports:
- Browsing of all well data
- Complete reporting, including Well Abstracts

CS*PROJECT©
CS*PROJECT© enables you to group documents from any of the CS*EXPLORER©
modules in a unique project. Doing so allows you to assemble specific documents for use in
special projects by, for example, property management teams. You can also use projects to
limit access to the CS*EXPLORER© database based on control factors that are
specific to your companys operational divisions.
When you work with documents that are part of a project, you can use all of the
features that are regularly available to you in CS*EXPLORER©, including the
maintenance, browse, and reporting functions to which your user security status allow you
access.

Associate Module
The Associate module enables you to maintain a central database of the business
associates you use in your day-to-day business. A business associate can be a vendor, a
customer, a partner, etc. All CS*EXPLORER© modules refer to the Associate
module to verify that the Associate codes you enter in CS*EXPLORER© are
valid.
You enter Business Associate codes in fields throughout the system to identify
individuals, businesses, and organizations. As a result, you can select documents based on
specific associate parameters, and filter some reports by the Associate code.

Validation Tables
Validation tables are an essential part of every CS*EXPLORER© module.
The system uses validation tables to store default values, lists of valid values, and data
cross-references that are used throughout the application. Validation tables are crucial
in keeping data consistent within the system and in enforcing the entry of valid data in
the CS*EXPLORER© modules.
Most validation tables can be user-defined and the database contains a starter set of
tables that can be set up to hold your own company-specific validation table entries.

GEODETIC+
The Geodetic+ tool enables you to generate online map-like views of all your CS*EXPLORER©
data. You can view plats of the lands governed by the Mineral, Surface, and Contract
documents you maintain, as well as by the locations of Wells and related Facilites. You
can also map holdings by the rights held in the map area. By this means, you can quickly
review a summary of all rights held for one or more formations in a specific land area.
Geodetic+ allows you to create maps based on the operating areas you use, or on
ranges of DLS or NTS legal descriptions. Lands within the boundaries that you define
appear on the map and are shaded according to the types of documents you maintain for
those lands. You can quickly review the list of documents in the map area by the module
(Mineral, Surface, Contracts, or Wells) in which the documents originate.

Reports
The Reports module houses all the reports that are included with CS*EXPLORER©
. These reports are created by EXPLORER Software Solutions Ltd. and
considered to be necessary, standard tools in most land departments and Canadian oil and
gas companies.
For most reports you can use the Selection Options, Sort Options, and Filter Options to
customize the report contents. By this means, you choose how the report retrieves records,
whether certain records should be excluded or included, and how the report sorts the
retrieved items.

Rentals and RUA Invoicing
The Rentals module manages lease rental payments as well as rental and Road Use

or Surface) in which the payment or invoice originates.
